It's Not Easy

Thursday, May 15, 2014 7:57 AM
In our last posts we have been discussing how you could target your market and build your business, how to create desire, build relationships and more. The title of this post “It’s Not Easy” is to let you know that you will have to endure.

There is a great quote that states “I never said it was going to be easy, I said it’s going to be worth it!” What a great quote, clear, honest and to the point. This is the way it is in life, it’s not going to be easy but it is absolutely worth it.

When we set out on our journey to build our lives, our businesses and our futures, we need to keep in mind there will be problems along the way. I have used the following analogy many times over the years so pay attention to this and get it down in your heart:

If you were a boxer and you were determined and believed that no one was ever going to hit you in the face, when they do it is going to hurt like mad. However, if you are going in to the boxing match knowing you’re going to get hit very hard, you are prepared to take the hit physically and mentally which makes it much easier, you’re prepared, which is vital to your survival.

Be prepared to take some hits, there are potholes on the highway of life. There will be red lights as you go but you still must be determined to go. You may have to adjust your plan so be ready and willing to make the adjustments necessary, but don’t give up.

Starting and growing a business is tough, there will be many challenges. But look at this another way; how tough will your life be if you don’t get started? There is no question that getting a job and staying there is easier in the short term but what about the long term and how about when you want to:

  • Take some time off?
  • Watch your children play?
  • Take your family on several vacations?
  • Go out to dinner when you want?
  • Coach your child’s team?
  • Travel?
  • Need a raise more than once a year?
  • Move to a nicer location
  • Take a year off?
  • And the list goes on….
You are going to have issues, you will go through difficult times, you will have times that you want to give up but don’t quit. You will have these same things on your job and more but now you are trapped!

Even if you start something part time in order to know that you have a way out, this may be all the incentive you need, don’t put it off – I've been there.

Once again, “It’s Not Easy” is a fact but it is all yours and you get to choose how you live, where you live, what you earn and so much more.
