Getting Results-Part Two

In our last post we began the discussion of “Getting Results” but certainly didn’t have enough time or space to dig further into it so we will dig a little deeper in this post.

Having worked with businesses all over the U.S., Canada and Europe a pattern begins to emerge that is very interesting and one that can help you if you will take it to heart.

We notice that because things worked a certain way when the company started, it is believed that these ways are always going to work. Or if the company is fairly new but things aren’t going so well, it seems to be a very hard thing to get people to change their ways in order to become successful.

So if possible, let’s clear this up so that everyone can move forward and get the results they want. You will always have to change and adapt – always. Get in to your mind right now that you are going to have to make changes. You may not like it but that is the way it is. To prove to you that really underneath it all change is a good thing I will give you a ridiculous example:

When you were a little tiny baby you wore diapers. There came a time when you got a little older that your parents or someone had to start to “potty train” you. You were getting too big to wear diapers so you had to start the process of learning to use the toilet. If you weren’t going to be potty trained you would now be an adult that still poops in your pants.

Of course this is a ridiculous example but a very vivid one that makes a point. The point is that you are going to have to change your ways in order to be successful. We all have to learn this lesson, if we don’t we will be in the history books of a company that might have been.

In order to get the results that you want look into the practices of those in your industry.  You may also want to look into other industries that can give you ideas that you can use to get your business on track. Remember that most businesses within an industry operate like the other businesses in that industry- which isn’t always a good thing.

 This may mean that you will have to set aside your previous beliefs in order to get the results that you want.

We work with companies all over the world and this same pattern emerges in all industries. Keep in mind the faster you make these adjustments the faster you get your results.
